A dog's grave, discovered during the metro subway excavations at
Syntagma Square, in the center of Athens, Greece in 1998. The grave was
constructed with particular care, having a surrounding of clay and
a piled floor. 2 fragrance containers (1st-2nd century AD) were accompanying the dead
animal. The colar copper decorations were also preserved. Once again, love and care for animals is proven to be a sign of civilization. |
